Over the next four years, some 7 million jobs worldwide will disappear due to emerging technologies (such as robotics and automation). New jobs will also emerge: around 2 million worldwide. We do not yet know what these jobs are, but they will almost certainly have an ICT component. In the world of ICT, women are heavily under-represented. Where the biggest blows fall – administrative and facility functions – women are overrepresented. If we want to maintain the position of women on the labor market, we need to act now. We need to empower them with ICT skills; for example by training them as a data scientist. That’s where Techionista and Microsoft come in. Because Microsoft, like Techionista, believes in gender diversity and is therefore committed to more women in ICT. That’s why we’ve joined forces and developed the Microsoft Azure Academy for Data Science, powered by Techionista. And just like during the previous edition the Johan Cruyff ArenA lets us use their fabulous location for free.
Yes you can! We have agreed with the UWV that the obligation to apply for jobs during the training will be temporarily canceled. This way you can focus on your study.
Yes, you can! Many employers have a training budget for their employees; maybe your boss wants to pay for this training for you. Keep in mind that this is a full-time course. You will, therefore, have to arrange with your employer that you are available full-time for the full 5 months.
As with the previous editions of the Microsoft Azure Academy for Data Science, powered by Techionista, the Johan Cruyff ArenA opens its doors again for us. We are grateful that they support this initiative!
No, unfortunately that does not work. The Microsoft Azure Academy for Data Science, powered by Techionista, consists of 5 very intensive months. You will be expected at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam three days a week. You study two days from home, where you have to complete modules in order to continue.
At Monday, Tuesday and Friday, from 9.30 AM to 6.30 PM, we expect you tobe present in Amsterdam. The other days of the week, you can study at home. We try to schedule all meetings on Monday, Tuesday and Friday but if we have to plan an event on another (weekly) day, we’ll inform you as soon as possible.
During the next course we have room for 30 women. It would of course be a shame if one of those coveted places is occupied by someone who turns out not to be as suitable after all. That is why we select strictly. You have signed up by filling in a form, which already shows something of your experience and background. The next step is a telephone interview. If we also have the idea that you are a suitable candidate after that call, we invite you for a personal meeting, after which you will hopefully be selected as a candidate.
It’s gonna be pretty tough to keep up with the pace of this education program. And that makes sense: in a mere 16 weeks you’ll become a data professional. That’s why this program isn’t suitable for everyone. Some prior knowledge of analytics and programming is really a plus. A completed STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) study certainly helps, although it’s not a must.
Hell yes! You have to complete a business case, where you put all the lessons into practice.
With Dutch participants only, the lessons will be taught in Dutch. If there are English-speaking participants, we will teach in English. The course material is partly in English; a good knowledge of the English language is therefore a must.
We will do our utmost to help you find a job. We do this, among other things, by organizing a job fair during your training. During such a job fair you go speed dating with interested companies. This job fair was very well received by both participating companies and by the candidates during the previous edition and resulted in many follow-up interviews (and even jobs). We also continue to write to companies to draw their attention to you as candidates. But … you also remain responsible for your own success. That is why we expect you to apply yourself as well. We support you by, for example, equipping you with a perfectly designed CV, so that you can confidently enter the labor market. We are convinced that you have found a job in data science soon after completing this program.
Yes: these candidates are now working in data science. Do you want to read their stories? You can find their testimonials here.
After completing this course, you are a data science professional and you have the Microsoft Certified Data Scientist Associate Certificate as proof of this. You have also completed a business case, so the first practical experience you have already been able to do, but that is of course far from enough to excel in the field of data science. For that you have to gain as much practical experience as possible. As a data science professional or data analyst for example, but you can also think of a consultant in the field of data science.
That is of course entirely up to you. We advise you to gain practical experience as a data scientist as soon as possible after this training. In addition, keep in mind that if you decide not to look for a job with an employer that can cover your training costs, you will have to repay your study costs yourself.
We help you during the training with research to what kind of job suits you well. If you still have little work experience, we always advise you to start work as a data science professional as soon as possible after the training; even if that is not immediately on your favorite spot. This way you can gain experience and you will quickly qualify for that dream job that you actually have in mind.
this training costs € 12,000 ex. VAT. But thanks to the support of Microsoft and the Johan Cruijff ArenA, we can now offer a discount of € 3,000! This means that this edition of the Microsoft Azure Academy, powered by Techionista, costs € 9,000. As a participant you only pay a personal contribution of € 1.995 ex. VAT (€ 2,413.95 including VAT).
Who then pays the remaining € 7,005 ex VAT? There are 3 scenarios possible:
Your new employer will pay the rest of the training
You are expected to find a job soon after completing this program. Your new employer will then pay back the rest of your training costs of € 7,005 ex VAT to us. You only pay your own contribution of € 1.995 ex. VAT (€ 2,413.95 including VAT) before the start of the training.
Your current employer will pay the rest of the training
Maybe you already have a great job and your current employer is willing to invest in your training. Your current employer will then pay back the rest of your training costs of € 7,005 ex VAT to us. And who knows… maybe your boss is even willing to take your contribution of € 1.995 ex VAT (before the start of the training) for his/her account.
We believe that it is good that you contribute to your future. We use the personal contribution that we receive prior to the training in order to be able to meet the running costs of the training.
As a data science professional you are popular on the labor market. A lot of data scientists are simply being sought and as a woman you also contribute to more diversity in existing data science teams (something that fortunately is increasingly important to companies).
If you decide to become an entrepreneur, or continue studying instead of going to work; you will then pay back the training costs yourself in monthly installments, spread over a maximum of 2 years. It may also be that you decide to accept a job with a company that does not want to contribute to your training costs. In that case you will transfer the monthly installments (spread over a maximum of 2 years) to us yourself.
